Toxic megacolon (when the colon suddenly swells and gets wider) can create holes in the colon; extreme dehydration from excessive diarrhoea; anaemia being just some of the side affects and symptoms that bowel toxicity may have. That is why we have designed a herbal blend to be able to soothe, nourish and assist in the repair the large colon whilst assisting and supporting the remainder of the body to cleanse and stimulate the immune system.
Slippery elm bark: This contains mucilage, a substance that becomes a slick gel when mixed with water. This mucilage coats and soothes the mouth, throat, stomach and intestines, making it ideal for sore throat, cough, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticulitis and diarrhea. It’s even been used to heal wounds, relieve the flu or common cold, treat infected and swollen glands, and to wash and heal sore eyes. The inner bark is where most of the health benefits reside and it is the part we use in this blend.
Plantain leaf: This incredible herb works well at treating and supporting the bladder, intestines, lungs and skin. Plantain is an excellent choice for irritation of the respiratory tract as it soothes and slightly moistens the mucus membranes and lifts up water and mucus from the lungs. Both roots and leaves create a slight stimulating effect on the cardiovascular system, which in turn benefits the gland and lymph systems to ward off infection found in the body.
